They’re a team, no matter what the grown-ups say. The first teaser for The Marvels picks up the loose thread from the end of Ms. Marvel, and finds three excellent heroes—Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris)—in a game of intergalactic musical chairs.

Also, is that a small army of young flerkens???

At the end of Kamala Khan’s series, Carol Danvers appeared in the Captain Marvel superfan’s bedroom, clearly at a loss as to how she got there. This trailer shows us what’s happening—their powers are connected, and they all keep switching places with each other, seemingly when they use said powers—but leaves everything else tantalizingly vague. Why is this happening? Who are Park Seo-joon (Parasite) and Zawe Ashton (The Handmaid’s Tale) playing? When did this whole-ass and presumably secret S.A.B.E.R. Space Station get built? (And what the heck does S.A.B.E.R. stand for? It’s got to be part of S.W.O.R.D., but the acronym is mysifying.)

Several things are clear: Goose is back! There are also a lot of adorable kittens that one can only assume are not kittens. Kamala Khan is as irrepressible as ever. And these three are going to be an unstoppable team.

Directed by Nia DaCosta (who wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells), The Marvels lands in theaters on November 10th, which is altogether too long to wait.
